So I purchased this on a whim after looking at the "current color vs results" panel on the back. It CLEARLY states black to dark brown hair would have a medium ash blonde result. Now I'm no fool, this is obviously not bleach and I wasnt expecting a bleached result but I was expecting it to do more than what it did. I have an ashy grey/dark blonde front chunk that I was looking to touch up around my (virgin grown out) roots. This was an experiment to lighten without bleaching, and what I got after an hour was basically a redder version of my dark brown hair. Nothing even close to what the box displays. Definitely wouldnt reccomend, definitely not impressed. I can't even imagine how furious I would be if I used this on my whole head. Yikes.

Lol... girl, your hair is so dark you would for sure need go bleach it first before toning it with the ash blonde.

Awesome cool blonde

I bought this on a whim after bleaching my naturally medium brown hair to a light (level 9-ish) blonde. While my hair was initially quite light after bleaching, it had a lot of yellow and orange tones in it. This dye did the trick! It turned a kind of purple/grey after applying to my hair, which was unnerving at first, but those were exactly the tones needed to get rid of the yellow and orange! When I washed it out, my hair was a perfectly soft, light, baby blonde. I bought a few more boxes while they were on sale, just to have on hand for future touch ups. Can't recommend this shade enough!!

i just bought it today, 2 boxes. Don’t recommend i decided to do a halo around my head i’ve had it on for almost an hour and a half with minimal lighting it’s a very ugly brown colour. don’t waste your money on this product

Only pharmacy hair box dye that doesn’t leave my r

In the 10+ yrs that I’ve been buying pharmacy hair dyes, this is the only colour that didn’t leave my natural dark brown roots orange or bright yellow. My hair wasn’t damaged at all after application. For the small amount of “golden” blonde that I did have after, one purple shampoo wash eliminated it all. Hands down my favourite pharmacy box hair dye for perfect baby blonde hair.

Awesome shade for medium brown hair!!

I have medium brown hair and it actually did turn out ash blonde! A little darker than expected, but it looks so natural and no brass at all!! I just couldn't believe this was 20V developer as high-lift usually takes 30V which is more damaging. My hair did not get fried at all! I love it so much!! :)

I bought this at Walmart. What is advertised on the box is a bleached effect, from black to blonde. Although it was unbelievable, i took a shot to see if this could help get me back to blonde from my dyed blue hair. It did not do anything, had no effect whatsoever and was a waste of around $20, as i bought two boxes. I do not recommend this product and it was false advertisement.

Not the color that is on the box

I just used this today and though the product does smell good and easy to apply unfortunately it did not do what expected.On the side of package it shows that you will get lighter shade then your current one, however in my case it did not change my color at all. I have a medium blond color treated hair which is a bit darker in the back. Greys were covered but nothing changed on the back nor the side of my head.. I applied the color as per instruction. Not a happy camper because what was promised was not delivered...

Alanaree, there is no such a thing as "false color pigment" and yes you can apply color to already colored hair - either by doing root touch up or you can do it all over to change color . Having been a hairdresser in my younger days I am familiar with bleaching, coloring etc. Usually the colors that I get off the shelf in a box do do the trick. Most anyway..This was the only one that did not do much. I did not expect it to "bleach"my hair but did expect it to change it somewhat.. No problem will try again with different shade or different product..

I have never ever had good luck with boxed hair dye as it has always turned my hair yellow or orange. I gave up on them and started having my hair done professionally for years to get it blonde spending hundreds of dollars every 6 months. Then COVID happened and my husband lost his job and I was forced to try my luck at boxed dye again so I went with a brown so I wouldn’t have to worry about roots but I didn’t like it and I missed the blonde. So I stood in the hair dye aisle for an hour trying to choose a box I didn’t think would make my hair yellow. But I didn’t notice at that time that this was just a colour and not a bleach. I bought two boxes and it sat at my house for a couple weeks before I was brave enough to attempt it. Halfway through, I noticed it was a colour and not a bleach and I was upset by it. I was always taught that a blonde colour on top of a dark one doesn’t work and the only way to lighten hair is by bleaching it but I was badly mislead. My hair turned out gorgeous and this will be my go-to every couple months. I will never get my hair done professionally again. Don’t be mislead by others. Blonde colour WILL lighten dark hair. My hair didn’t look this nice even when I did go to the salon.
