Decent but not for grays

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this as I have stubborn grays. Unfortunately it didn’t work well at covering them. The instructions say for stronger color leave on for 10 minutes. I left it on for 20 mins and while the majority of my hair appeared darker, the grays only had a light tinge of brown to them. On a positive note my hair was very soft and smelled lovely. The scent is very light and pleasant.

Great for color depositing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only reason I give this product of three out of five is because it wasn’t as conditioning as I thought it was gonna be. It didn’t leave my hair particularly silky feeling, they kinda felt stiff like if I had used hair dye. But the color payoff was great. I am a former blonde now color treated black/brown that has to color very often because of fading. The products deepened the color a lot and added cool brown tones to I my hair. It also made they extremely shiny. I would definitely recommend this product for the color pay off alone, and the consistency is cool it feels like a soft, chocolate clay mask if that makes sense.

Great reviver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn't personally use this because I have really dark hair. I asked my mom to use it since hers is lighter. This was really easy to use and instructions were clear. She didn't use gloves but this reviver did not stain the skin or any other surfaces. You can't really see it in the pictures but there is a difference. My mom's hair was a red-brown, and this reviver colored her hair a more darker shade of brown. It had no string chemical smells. The thing I disliked was that she noticed her hair wasn't as soft or shiny as it used too. Overall, it's great and perfect for people who want to bring their haircolor back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't notice any change in the color of my hair when using this product. It didn't matter if I left it on for five or ten minutes since there was no noticeable change in my hair color. I guess it's possible that my hair has too many warmer tones to cover with a cool brown, but I would expect some sort of change, especially on grown out roots.
It didn't smell bad and it washed off of skin easily enough right away. It was far less messy than some temporary color depositing conditioners, which is a plus. I wouldn't purchase this product, but I wouldn't talk someone else out of it since it might work for them.

The Absolute Worst

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really unhappy with this product. I used it on my darker brunette hair as it said it would refresh it a bit. The only things that happened were it dried my hair out, faded my color and instead left me with some sort of reddish tint somehow even though the shade is COOL brown. It didn't even condition my hair but instead left it tangled. This is one of the worst performing hair care products I have ever used, do not use this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mean.. my hair is already dark brown from dying it, but I thought this might help blend my light brown roots when I’m feeling a little lazy and haven’t gotten around to coloring my hair in awhile.. especially with having little kids, my only alone time is during their nap. so this would be super nice to just have something darken the roots a bit in the meantime.. but unfortunately, I don’t see much of a difference. I didn’t use conditioner, like it said.. and it smells nice? my hair doesn’t feel bad for not using my conditioner, which is the only reason why I’ll say it’s okay. I wouldn’t repurchase.

I have dense type 4 hair that tangles very easily, so I'm picky about my conditioners. After washing my hair, I applied the conditioner and let it sit with a cap for 10 minutes. After rinsing, my color was definitely neutralized. No brass in sight. Though, my hair was pretty soft, I felt obligated to follow it with my conditioner designed to tame unruly hair. My results were great, and my hair smelled amazing. Overall, I liked the conditioner, and I plan to use it every few washes to keep my color rich.

So easy, nice refresh

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this free from Influenster in exchange for an honest review. The box arrived late, and my dark brown diy dye job had majorly faded. So, my hair was working against this product.
I applied it, and left it in 10 minutes (should be 5 to 10 per directions). There wasn’t a noticeable smell, and I used gloves but I’m pretty sure I didn’t need to.
The results were way beyond what I expected. It toned out the brassy blonde peeking through my dye job. The end result wasn’t as dark as the tube implied, but my hair was also lighter than the bottle suggested. Would definitely buy again.

Which is wierd and the brown seemed a little lighter maybe as opposed to darker which I would have preferred

Shiny, soft hair

This product is supposed to help your color look better in-between coloring your hair and is supposed to help cover gray. You put it on clean shampooed hair , leave it on your hair for at least 5 minutes and rise it's that easy. I do have a lot of grays and I dye my hair regularly. I used this product and it worked ok but it did not cover my gray and it left a lot of red in my hair . I did not like the red it left . It did make my hair look shiny and healthy those and did make my color revived. I would recommend this product but I would ne careful what color you pick.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product deposited some color into my hair. I don’t see a huge difference but it’s not hair dye either. This is a dark brown conditioner that will leave some shine in your hair. My hair is curly so it needs more moisture and this doesn’t give me enough moisture. When I combed it with a wide tooth comb my hair feels as if I never conditioned it. I think I’ll try an extra conditioner after I rinse it off. I also left it in my hair for 10 minutes. I don’t think 5 minutes will do anything to your hair. I’m curious if I can leave the conditioner longer in my hair. Overall I think it’s an excellent idea. I need to
try it longer to see if it will extend the color
in my hair, especially in between dying timesaver.

It was decent

But it is definitely a great product that I would suggest to people that weren’t behind on coloring their hair like I was, it did definitely make my hair is much softer and smoother at this point but I don’t know what it will be like in 2 weeks ( that’s how often it is recommended to use it) it did darken it some so I will see if I get roots or it just fades out. Hopefully it only fades, but as I said at day 3 what it has done for my hair I recommend this product.

It adds new life to my hair in between dyes. It does not cover greys but it does blend them in well. After using this, I have soft and shiny hair. It’s easy to use with little mess. I love the convenience of being able to use it during a shower and that there is no strong scent with it. Overall I highly recommend this product and will continue to use it. Unfortunately I don't think I really like it. I didn't really see any change to my hair color at all. My hair is brown and my roots are grey'ing out. The only thing it seemed to do is give a shine to my brown hair and gave my grey hair a weird brownish tint to the grey. Maybe it look different if I used the whole bottle. But I dont think I'll be finishing it off, well see. I might try it again and give it another chance.

Gets you through your in-between stages

This latest shade fills in a gap that was missing from this great line: I have tried four other Reviver colors, but now that I prefer ashier tones to match my natural growth, I was obliged to mix the Rich Black with the Cool Blonde to get a dark yet non-warm effect. Was super-excited to see that the new color was just the one I needed to bridge the demarcation between old dyed hair and mother nature's palette.
As ever, this product is low-scented, hydrating, detangling, and leaves no permanent staining on your hands, tub, or hair.

This was a new experience for me and the product was very pigmented and glossy consistently. At my first attempt trialing this product my fingers had a minor staining however over the use of this product my hair looks quite healthy and shiny. I'm very impressed with this product and it smells really nice however it was a little hard to get the remainingof product from the squeeze tube. I would recommend it.

It was a very purple toned dye. The instructions stay say to apply it after shampooing/rinsing and leave it on for about 5 to 10 minutes, but I think that applying it directly to dry hair would yield a lot better results. I do like the packaging that it comes in; the tube makes it pretty mess free and easy to apply. I would definitely try it with dry hair next time.

Does what it says but…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, first time I used it I was worried. After rinsing my hair felt like straw and my hair is thin and dry anyway. BUT after it dried I was more okay about it. Definitely refreshed the color of my hair and made it shiny, but it’s clearly just a direct deposit dye with hair laminators like overtone. Second time I left it in for the full 10 minutes and the results were even darker but the conditioning was still lacking. I wouldn’t spend money on this, but if you decide to use it I would definitely condition afterwards even though the bottle says it isn’t necessary. My hair looks good but it’s brittle. I think I would rather get a box dye with actual conditioners in it than use something like this. For the record, I’ve also tried overtone and this gives identical results with the same amount of conditioning.

I ran a comb through my hair to make sure it was evenly applied. That was my mistake, I ended up with the product on the wall. It was at least easy to clean up. After waiting 10 minutes, I rinsed my hair. I noticed a little bit of color difference in my hair, but not the amount I thought I would. I may have to much gray for this product to really work.

I use madison reed color so not sure if this would have worked differently since this is made to go with garner color. It worked so-so. it has a slight coconut scent added and didn't do too much for brassiness. I guess too many natural red highlights in my hair. it moisturized okay though. it did stain my towel and can't get out so use darker or older towels. it also smudged on clothing edging when I sweated too.
took forever to get box.

Easy to use

I thought this was easy to use, and I liked that it washed off my hands easily and I didn’t need gloves. It also made my hair feel soft so I didn’t need to use a conditioner with it. I didn’t notice much of a difference in my color, but I think it helped a little to darken it. I’d give it a try again, maybe with a different color!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started getting white hairs when I was 21 and have been dying my roots to match my original hair color since about then. I don't dye all my hair, just the roots. I would recommend using gloves even though it doesn't recommend them. That might not be necessary for lighter colors but I think it would be helpful for dark shades. This is easy to use but probably works best on fully dyed hair that has brassiness. It changed my color slightly, but nothing too dramatic.

That is a big plus for me. This product would be perfect for those trying to do a quick gray cover up. It is the perfect size to take on vacation and not as time consuming to apply. For a light base it only takes 5 minutes. 10 minutes for darker results. It also rinses out extremely well. All on all a great product.

Subtle to no effect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried cool brown because my hair has faded/bleached to a honey brown (sorry, looks orange in photo). I wanted to add more brown to my hair to get it closer to my neutral brown color. I did a strand test. The left is untouched and the right is after 5 min of the color reviver. There was little to no difference.
This may work for those whose color is already cooler brown. It would probably take a semi or permanent color to add the brown back to my hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this product worked really great just to touch up some dye. My hair is dyed dark brown, and the cool brown shade worked well at covering up any red that my hair seems to produce in the sun! I left it on for ten minutes, but my hair on the ends is definitely more red than the rest of my hair. My hair felt super silky and soft after using! I would recommend for a quick touch up of color between dyes, but wouldn’t replace my dye completely.

Ultra moisturizing . As an experiment I applied the cool brown shade to my golden/ Platinum mixed hair. Applied it like a balayage effect starting at the top roots leaving in for 10 minutes and pulling the rest through in the shower and rinsed well. It took almost all the brassiness out of my hair and just added dark dimension which came out to be a sandy light brownish blonde. I acquired desired results after just one application.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely loved this color reviver. It's so easy to use and I love that. I can simply add it into my shower routine with no problem while I allow it to sit I am able to take care of other shower needs like shaving, exfoliating my skin, doing my skincare routine. It says to not condition the hair if using this product which I was hesitant bc I use conditioner every time I wash my hair but this stuff left my hair feeling amazing!

I’ve previously tried products ghat make similar claims but all they did was make my hair feel greasy and my color dye turned dull after using. But this one has blown me away! My hair looks much shinier than before, my color is well preserved, and my hair feels healthy and hydrated. Definitely recommend, I only wish there were more color options as the kids in my family have bright unique hair colors.

Not very pigmented, didn't revive color

I was bleach blonde a few months ago and then dyed my hair a brown that I hoped would be similar to my natural color, but it turned out a little warmer than I had hoped. Once it had faded a bit I bought this hoping it would deepen the color a little and maybe make it a little more cool toned. Unfortunately I saw absolutely no difference, even leaving it on for at least ten minutes on shampooed hair. I have tried it more than once, and still my hair looks exactly the same. Even though the mask looks brown the one I got doesn't seem to have very much pigment in it. Maybe it was a bad batch? I've seen other reviews saying it stained their hands if they didn't wash it off quickly, and it didn't stain mine at all. In general it just wasn't pigmented enough to revive my color at all. I gave it two starts instead of one just because it did make my hair feel nice.

Nothing Happened

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This came after I had done some highlights to my hair. I wasn’t thrilled about throwing brown over it, but decided to do it anyways. Guess I lucked out because nothing really happened. It had no impact on my brown hair or my highlights. Maybe if my hair was all brown it would have been different? I also didn’t like how dry my hair felt after. It didn’t seem to even give any benefit to me at all. This would be a pass for me.
